About

Cheviot Ecology is owned by Elizabeth Walker and is based in north Northumberland close to the Scottish Border.

Elizabeth has worked in the environmental sector for 15 years, including working as both a consultant and county ecologist (Scottish Borders Council), over the last 10 years, therefore seeing both sides of the planning process as it relates to ecology.

She holds a Class 2 survey licence for bats and a Class 1 survey licence for great crested newts, both issued by Natural England. She also holds the equivalent licences with Nature Scot, as well as a Bat Low Impact Licence for Scotland. She is a qualified tree climber (CS38) and an accredited River Condition Assessment surveyor (Modular River Survey)

Cheviot Ecology operates primarily in the Scottish Borders and Northumberland, with a focus on delivering a high quality service to local projects.
